The Future of America…

High Tech, Futuristic, Super Hero, Secret Agent Watches

Very low tech High Tech Secret Agent Watches! A fun spy art project using recycled materials.

I have a few art birthday parties coming up in the next few weeks and I wanted to have a menu of options for families to choose from. Last week I spent most of my time in the studio putting together projects menus that might be enticing to the pre-school set. This was one of my favorites- The very low tech High Tech Secret Agent Spy Watch.  It is made from the old jewelry boxes I’ve accumulated (an altoids tin would be even better, actually) and recycled and found materials like bottle caps and buttons. The dials turn and you can open it up to stash secret documents.  It even has a super high tech fingerprint identification panel. See that?

I think what I like most about this project is that we all know that the four year olds in our lives will very soon be more tech savvy than we are- if they aren’t already. I don’t know how much longer we have before four year olds stop finding this imaginary fingerprint id-remote-control-bio-monitoring (?) watch awesome and start finding it quaint because they are wearing a real one. Let’s savor this time…
